It was good to meet two local Green Councillors today to talk about how to improve and encourage reporting of anti-social behaviour.
This will assist the Police in adequately resourcing an area, and will renew public confidence in tackling crime on our streets.
We’re hearing from residents in some areas that they have lost faith in reporting, however we want to ask residents to continue to report crime to the police so that they can put adequate resources into an area.
We have asked the police for a renewed focus on visible street patrolling to tackle anti-social behaviour within the area and renew confidence.
If you witness a crime you can play a key part in making a difference to the community by bringing criminals to justice, and the police could prevent further crimes being committed and protect others from becoming victims.
Please remember to call 999 if you or someone else is in immediate danger, or a crime is in progress. Call 101 for non emergencies. You can also contact Crimestoppers to report a crime anonymously. They will pass the information about the crime to the police.
